Every time I want to do my job, I need to prepare for it by shutting down all my phone notifications, reading all my emails, checking all my notifications, and replying to all my DMs. Now I’m ready to do the job; now I’m ready to focus on that job.
But what if I were to do the job before performing all these check-ups? Well, it would be hard because they would be in the back of my mind, and I would just think about them: “Who wrote me that DM?” “What opportunity am I missing in the new message?” “Don’t mess up the algorithm and reply to that comment right away.“
So my focus is disturbed by other stupid, non-important checks that would take me 30 minutes to finish. Is it worth it? NO!
That’s why I believe that FOCUS is the most underrated skill marketers need to develop these days. Prioritize the important work you can do, do the work, and then do whatever you want.
PRIORITIZE – FOCUS – DO THE WORK – TAKE A LIMITED BREAK – REPEAT
