In a perfect world

The Marketer brings the client into the store and the Seller sells the product.

The Marketer doesn’t see himself as a God above the advertiser.

The Marketer leaves the task of creating in the hands of an agency.

The Marketer knows his target at a practical level.

The Marketer lives in the market.

The Marketer does not do the design. The designer does the design.

The Marketer does not meddle with the design. He lets the Designer do his job.

The Marketer does only marketing and the PR-guy does only PR.

The PR guy reads the blog before sending out a press release.

The PR guy knows a lot more than “ha ha ha … hi hi hi”.

The PR guy has a good relationship with the social media guy. He doesn’t take over his job. It’s just a partnership/fellowship/teamwork relationship.

A social media man exists that takes care of social media accounts. The PR guy does not do social media, The Marketer does not do social media, the brand manager does not do social media.

Perhaps this is how things should be in a perfect world, but because the world we live in is not a perfect one we could at least fight to make it more beautiful.
