Shocase: A network just for marketers and communicators

Many times I’ve looked for a social network populated just by marketers, communicators, advertisers or social media people. A social network where there are no cats (unless they’re in an ad), where there is no overly excited couple (unless it’s in a spot) or where there are no former colleagues from high school or college who enjoy exposing their child in embarrassing moments (unless it’s in a case study).

Come on, admit it: you’d also like a Facebook just for marketers, but not one like Linkedin (where people display their talents in order to find a better job) nor like Twitter (where 140 characters aren’t enough for you). I know that you want that place hidden from family and maybe you’re thinking of creating it yourself but you don’t have the proper resources yet.

And what if I’d tell you that place already exists, would you believe me? If I’d tell you there’s a Linkedin combined with Facebook and tidier than Slideshare for marketers and communicators, would you believe me? A place far away from family, friends, mothers and neighbors. A place just for those similar to you. Well … allow me to tell you the good news:

Shocase – A social network just for marketers, advertisers and communicators

With Shocase, members can present their work, skills and experience in the best light to the audience they value most; brands can find the right marketing professionals to suit their needs in any discipline. The site is designed to build working relationships and ultimately help members grow their business. On Shocase you can upload your work (web pages, slideshare presentations, youtube or vimeo videos, etc), you can share content and you can comment other people’s statuses. Shocase is a social network that is still at the beginning of the road, but it’s worth trying. You can find me here.

And after 90 days they have just released the first official iOS app.

But let’s be real. Don’t expect a lot of people, a lot of fuss and commotion. The network is still growing and needs specialists in the field, people who want the industry to grow and develop and for that they’re willing to invest time and resources into Shocase. Don’t expect the dozens of likes that you’d usually get on Facebook but you can be sure that you won’t be bombed with invites to farms and Candy Crush.

So, all you specialists out there, will I see you on Shocase?
