The Modern Way to Build a Brand

The traditional way to launch a business was to build a product first and then find an audience.

However, the modern way to launch a business is to find an audience first and then build a product.

This is known as the “Audience First. Product Next” framework.

  • Step 1: Attract an audience with your content.
  • Step 2: Choose one platform where your audience is located.
  • Step 3: Build a product as a solution to their problem.

Here’s a Twitter thread on how Sahil Bloom used the “Audience First. Product Next” framework to build his own business.

More brands, marketers, and creators use this approach because it helps them understand their audience’s needs, desires, and struggles. This allows them to identify which problem needs a solution, and that solution is their product.

I wrote an entire article about this framework. You can read it for free here: https://robertkatai.com/audience-first-product-next-framework/

📨THIS NEWSLETTER – Building in public

The power of email swap is so big that so few of us are using it. Abhi (Psychology of Marketing) recommended me on his newsletter and that’s a big thing for me.

So yeah, when you want to build a newsletter, try to connect with other newsletter creators and do an email swap.
