After 5 days spent travelling alongside some very talented instagrammers and after driving with them for more than 1200 km, I’ve realized that these content creators just might be the next big thing in visual marketing. And I say „the next big thing” regarding the Romanian market.
Yeah, visual communication is the next thing for your brand! And smart marketers/advertisers will confirm this.
Currently, in Romania you cannot make a living out of only Instagram. Even with Cristina Munteanu, the most followed instagrammer in Romania who has 183k followers or Lavinia who has 87k followers, we cannot yet make a distinction between an instagrammer and someone who has an Instagram (the same goes with blogger vs. man with a blog). But I do believe we will get there and instagrammers will be able to make a living out of Instagram. (why am I saying this? because I see what’s happening abroad and I am certain the same will start happening here). You cannot currently make a distinction between instagrammers who do it out of passion and instagrammers who just do it for the sake of it.
After the “Take Me To Romania” trip I came up with a few reasons why I believe instagrammers are the next big thing in visual marketing.
1. Real time content creators
And if real time marketing and real time response it’s what brands/fans want, then real time content is the next thing they should consider. Because everything is moving at a very fast pace and people are always connected to the internet. And the best content you can provide is a straightforward, real, human content!
2. Creative content creators
How many ways can a landmark be photographed in? Well..in my Take me to Romania trip with instagrammers I’ve learned that a photo of a landmark can get a personal touch when there’s a person alongside it.
3. They shoot for the people
They won’t fill their feed with pictures of your brand or you nice and large logo but they will certainly come up with that creative touch your brand needs. If you give an instagrammer creative freedom he will definitely act like a bridge between the brand and the consumer.
4. Visual communication is for every language
I’m sure everybody knows that “a picture is worth a thousand words”, but who would have thought that „a picture is worth a thousand languages”?
5. They work together
If an instagrammer is such a creative person, think about how a community of instagrammers must be like. They work together, create together and think about each other’s feed. And that’s what makes Instagram such a successful app: the community that sustains it.
I believe it’s time for Romanian brands to start thinking about collaborating with instagrammers.
