It is often said that you can’t judge a book by its cover.
Why? Because maybe the designer of that book cover didn’t get to read the whole book, so as a result, he executed as he was asked to.
Maybe because we, as humans, have different tastes and ideas. Or perhaps the author shouldn’t be interested in the cover of their book. And many other reasons.
But I do judge books. I judge them by their cover and also by their first 3-5 pages.
I judge and analyze a book until I have nothing to consider about it.
If it’s not attractive for me from the first pages, why waste my time with it? How do I decide if a book is good for me?
If in the first 3 pages I find nothing to highlight, note, circle, or see nothing to inspire me with new ideas, then it’s not for me.
I’m done with that book.
Read the books you like, not the ones you started to read, and you want to finish just because this is the right thing to do.
What do you judge a book by?
